I´m a finalist of the Global talent search

The plan was to create a nice “thank you” card for all of you who voted for me, encouraged me and cheered me up on my way into the final of the “Global talent search” run by Lilla Rogers Studio. There are so many lovely friends and family members who believed in me more than I did. And you deserved the most beautiful thank-you ever but the truth is that life has been very busy this week.

This week the Bavarian summer holidays ended and both girls started school. Julia, my little one for the very first time and Johanna left primary school to visit a Gymnasium (high school) from now on. On Wednesday I got to know that my bear design made it into the final of GTS and I spent the rest of the day in a kind of happy-shocked rigor. The same day the six finalists got the briefing for the last round. Margo Tantau, the creative director from Midwest-CBK created four beautiful inspiration boards with different themes. All four are so inspiring and I still couldn´t decide which one I want to go with. Tomorrow I have a twenty years class reunion in Munich and I´m very much looking forward to seeing all my former classmates. I´m still seeing some very close friends, but I haven´t met most for a very long time.

For sure you want to know who are the other five finalists. The winner of the public vote is a gorgeous bunny by Kate Mason. The other ladies choosen by the judging panel are the very talented Flora Waycott, Lindsay Gardner, Rebecca Jones and Tara Lilly. Congratulations to them and good luck for the very last round. You find all the winning entries on Lilla´s blog. There are some great comments by the judges, which you might be interested in as well. They also listed tips for the other semifinalists and I think they are interesting for all other artists.

The submission deadline for the finalists´entries is September, 30th and on the 9th of October the winner of the Global talent search 2014 will be announcened on Lilla Rogers blog. Please come back if you want to see my entry.

Instead of a thank-you picture I thought you might like to see some of my sketches for the T-shirt design. Julia (6) asked me to print out the cats head for her and she finished it off. I quite like how it turned out. What about you?

An dieser Stelle hätte jetzt eine schöne Dankeschön-Karte stehen sollen, für all diejenigen, die mich auf dem Weg ins Finale des “Gobal talent search” Wettbewerbs unterstützt und angefeuert und für mich gestimmt haben. Es gibt so viele liebe Freunde und Verwandte, die an mich geglaubt haben, mehr als ich selbst. Und Ihr habt das schönste Dankeschön verdient, aber die Wahrheit ist, daß mein Leben in den letzten Tagen sehr hektisch war.

Diese Woche sind die bayerischen Sommerferien zu Ende gegangen und die Schule hat für meine zwei Mädchen wieder angefangen. Julia, meine Kleine, geht jetzt in die Grundschule und Johanna  kam ins Gymnasium. Am Mittwoch habe ich zu meiner grössten Freude erfahren, daß mein Bär es ins Finale geschafft hat. Den Rest des Tages verharrte ich in einer Art glücklichen Schockstarre. Am selben Tag bekamen alle sechs Finalisten das Briefing für die letzte Runde. Margo Tantau, die Kreativdirektorin von Midwest-CBK, hat vier schöne Mood-Boards mit unterschiedlichen Themen erstellt. Alle sind toll und ich habe mich noch nicht entschieden, welches ich wählen werde. Morgen fahre ich zum zwanzigjährigen Abiturtreffen nach München und ich freue mich sehr darauf, auch wenn der Termin etwas ungünstig liegt. Zu manchen sehr guten Freunden habe ich immer noch Kontakt, aber die Meisten habe ich seit Jahren nicht mehr gesehen.

Sicher möchtet Ihr wissen, wer die anderen fünf Finalisten sind. Die Stimme des Publikums hat Kate Mason mit einer süssen Hasendame gewonnen. Die anderen, von der Jury gewählten Damen, sind die sehr talentierte Flora Waycott, Lyndsay Gardner, Rebecca Jones und Tara Lilly. Herzliche Glückwünsche und viel Glück für die letzte Runde! Ihre Arbeiten, mit denen sie ins Finale kamen, könnt Ihr auf Lilla´s Blog sehen. Außerdem kann man dort die Kommentare der Jury lesen und Tips, welche die Juroren den Semifinalisten geben. Ich denke, die sind für alle Künstler interessant.

Der Abgabetermin für die finalen Entwürfe ist der 30.September und am 9.Oktober wird dann auf Lilla´s Blog der Gewinner der Global talent search bekanntgegeben.

Anstelle eines Dankeschön-Bilders zeige ich hier wenigstens eins meiner Skizzenblätter für meinen T-Shirt Entwurf. Julia (6) hat mich gebeten, ihr einen der Katzenköpfe auszudrucken, damit sie ihn zu Ende zeichnen kann. Das Ergebnis finde ich ziemlich lustig. Was meint Ihr?
